Health is something that we take for granted and tend not to think about it until something goes wrong. At Pecuniary Consulting, we offer a wide variety of medical aid and gap cover options from leading product suppliers. As a result of our large product offerings, we are able to provide our clients with a variety of options that will assist them in meeting their healthcare needs.
Being part of a medical aid involves paying a monthly contribution to a medical scheme in return for financial cover that is required for medical treatment and related medical expenses. Pecuniary Consulting also offers group medical aid for employees.
• Network plans
These plans offer a lower premium, however clients are limited to network hospitals and have to consult with medical practitioners from an approved network.
• Hospital plans
These plans include cover in-hospital and some chronic benefits only.
• Savings plans
These plans include cover in-hospital, chronic benefits and a medical savings account. The medical savings account will be used to fund out of hospital expenses. If a balance remains in the savings account at the end of the year, this amount will be carried over and added to the following year benefits.
• Traditional plans
These plans include cover in-hospital, chronic benefits and out of hospital benefits. The referral system is used for out of hospital benefits. The scheme sets rand amounts for the various day-to-day benefits available for the year, which falls away at the end of each year if not used.
• Comprehensive plans
These plans include extensive cover in-hospital, chronic benefits and out of hospital cover.
Gap Cover is put in place to cover any shortfalls in hospital when doctors/specialists charge over and above medical aid rates or when your medical aid benefits are limited so that you don’t incur additional costs. Pecuniary Consulting also offers group gap cover at discounted rates. Terms and conditions apply.
• Shortfalls on doctor/specialist bills in hospital only. Limited to 500%.
• Co-payments on procedures done in hospital
